MEDIA INTERVIEWS OF INMATES
Telephonic interviews with inmates are allowed, should the inmate agree.
All interview requests are to be set up through the Office of Media
Relations: (602)542-3133. The Department retains the right to
decline inmate interviews.
Information required for telephonic interview requests: inmate's full name; ADC
number - which can be obtained through the
Inmate Datasearch;
name of media representative; phone number of media representative.
MEDIA VISITS TO ARIZONA STATE PRISONS
Film crews and still photographers interested in shooting background
footage at any Arizona Department of Corrections facility must first
gain permission by contacting the Media Relations Director at
(602)542-3133.
A security clearance must be obtained for prison visits.
The Department retains the right to refuse access to any individual it
considers a risk to the safe and secure operation of its institutions.
The following information is required for clearance purposes: full legal name;
date of birth; social security number; drivers license and issuing state.
RESTRICTIONS

Facial photography of an inmate is at the discretion of the inmate. Any
inmate that is identified by name must sign a waiver. Requests can be
made by contacting the Media Relations Director at 602-542-3133.

Photography or filming of any security device is prohibited.
PROHIBITED ITEMS WHILE ON PRISON GROUNDS
Weapons,
either on person or in vehicle; narcotics of any sort; cellular phones, pagers,
purses, excessive jewelry (hoop type earrings not allowed), these items should
be locked in your vehicle; individuals will not carry more than 20 US dollars on
person while on prison grounds.
PROHIBITED DRESS
Orange colored clothing; open toed shoes; shorts and cutoffs; tank tops or
shirts with cut-off sleeves; shirts with pictures or language that is offensive
by current standards, or gang affiliation.
PROHIBITED CONDUCT
No physical contact or conversing with inmates.
